Blue Pools & Bridle Track Guided Walk
This combination of walks is definitely a highlight of the Haast Pass - in World Heritage Mt. Aspiring National Park. We firstly visit the gravelled path to the Blue Pools which gives easy walking access through the Beech rainforest. Boardwalks and netting complete the walk to a viewing platform of the pools where we may see large Brown and Rainbow Trout feeding in the crystal blue water. We then have lunch at Cameron Flat, with commanding views over the Makarora River to the glaciated panorama of the Southern Alps. After lunch we travel up the valley and from Davis Flat we follow the Bridle track on the original and horse only access that once was all that served the West Coast people and their livestock.
